area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
You can enjoy light strolls
around the village and through the Pine Woods, or with a little exertion up
onto the highest point of The Wolds with views as far as Lincoln Cathedral.
On
sunny days choose your literature and some relaxing music for a spell in the
garden.
For
a larger snapshot of the Lincolnshire Wolds, the Blue Stone Heath Road offers
the perfect scenic drive along the prehistoric chalk upland way. Here you
can tour the countryside
of Tennyson's childhood, have afternoon tea at Stockwith Mill, a familiar
leisure spot and font of inspiration for the Poet Laureate.
This region of high
skies and expansive
landscapes also
affords excellent walking and cycling.
The
National Cycle route passes through the area. Walkers can enjoy the Viking
Way which meanders over the Wolds, offering magnificent views and many a secluded
picnic spot or village pub lunch.
